Our Story

Our Story

Calvary Jesus Church is based on Biblical doctrine solely. We believe that the Bible is complete on its own and nothing exists outside the Bible claimed to be from God is true.

Our faith is based on the fact that, "Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son, Whom He appointed the Heir of all things, through whom also, He created the world" (Hebrews 1:1-2).

The Prophets and Apostles, after laying the foundation, we now build on it. This means that the only way God can communicate is through the Bible — giving us every reason to rely solely on the Word and study it faithfully.

Our Mission

"We are a dedicated church in unleashing God's truth one verse at a time. Teaching the Bible is our focus."

Our mission is to study and teach God's Word faithfully, building lives on the solid foundation of Biblical truth, and creating a community where believers can grow in their faith together.

Our Core Values

These fundamental values guide everything we do as a church community

Biblical Authority

We believe the Bible is complete on its own and is our sole authority for faith and practice.

Christ-Centered

Jesus Christ is at the center of everything we do, teach, and believe.

Community

We are a family of believers committed to growing together in faith.

Love

We show God's love through our actions and service to others.

Truth

We are committed to teaching and living according to God's truth.

Excellence

We strive for excellence in all we do for the glory of God.

Our Beliefs

We are a group of believers with a common faith based on Biblical facts

1

The Bible Alone

God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son. That final, written revelation is complete — nothing claimed to be from God outside the Bible is true.

Hebrews 1:1-2
2

Biblical Foundation

All human kind are born in Adam, sinners by birth. Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.

Romans 5:12
3

God's Righteousness

God is righteous and Just and can never allow sin into heaven. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is He.

Deuteronomy 32:4
4

Salvation Through Christ

The only way one can be righteous, right with God is through the forgiveness. Through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by him everyone who believes is freed.

Acts 13:38-39
5

Jesus is the Way

Without Jesus Christ nobody can enter heaven. I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

The Bible Alone

Why we believe God speaks to us only through Scripture — and why anything claimed to be from God that is not already written in the Bible is false.

"God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds."
Hebrews 1:1-2 (NKJV)

In the past, God spoke "at various times and in various ways" — through prophets, dreams, visions, and signs. That was real revelation, given while the story of redemption was still unfolding. But that scattered pattern has now been succeeded by something final: God speaking to us "by His Son" — a revelation completed in Christ and delivered, once for all, through His apostles and prophets in the written words of Scripture (Ephesians 2:20; Jude 3).

This is why we do not look for new, private, ongoing revelation alongside the Bible. Scripture itself claims exclusivity for its teaching: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God... that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17). If Scripture already equips us for every good work, no supplementary revelation is needed — the Bible is sufficient.

Scripture even tells us what to do when someone claims a dream or vision from God: test it against what God has already spoken (1 John 4:1; Isaiah 8:20). "If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes to pass... you shall not listen to the words of that prophet" if it contradicts God's Word (Deuteronomy 13:1-3). A dream can even come true and still be false — its fulfillment is never the proof; agreement with Scripture is. And Paul states the principle in its most extreme form: "even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed" (Galatians 1:8). Not even an angelic vision can overrule the Bible — so no dream, feeling, or private impression can either.

God-Breathed

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness — not the private opinions of men, but the very breath of God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Nothing Added, Nothing Taken

From Moses to John, God bookends His written Word with the same warning: do not add to it, do not take from it, on pain of judgment. The canon of Scripture is closed.

Deuteronomy 4:2; Revelation 22:18-19

Not Dreams, Not Visions

God once spoke "in dark sayings" through dreams and visions — but even a dream that comes true must be rejected if it contradicts what God has already spoken in Scripture.

Numbers 12:6-8; Deuteronomy 13:1-5

Not Even an Angel

Even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what has already been delivered, let him be accursed. No revelation, however impressive, overrules Scripture.

Galatians 1:8-9

The Foundation Is Laid

We are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets — a foundation laid once, not re-laid generation after generation. The faith was once for all delivered to the saints.

Ephesians 2:20; Jude 3

The Test of Every Claim

To the law and to the testimony! If a teaching, a dream, or a "word" does not speak according to Scripture, it is because there is no light in it at all.
